Promotional Products as a Marketing Tool

Promotional products are just one of the tools marketers used in their marketing strategy. Promotional products become a choice for marketers because they create goodwill. When consumers receive a promotional product they feel appreciated and will continue to support the business by purchasing the product.

Promotional items are also less expensive as opposed to running an advertisement on national television, especially promotional items that are made in the USA. In the case of luxury skin care products, when the customer purchases above a certain amount, they are given free items such as a travel sized product or a sample of a new product. By doing so, the customer would have the impression that their purchase was worth the hundreds that they spend because they receive so many promotional items in return. And the cost to give away these additional promotional products is very minimal to the business.

Unconsciously, promotional items are effective marketing tools because they allow the brand to be exposed to the consumers for a longer time. As opposed to flyers, customers just receive them to be polite and later it is found in the dustbin. However, when they continuously use the promotional item, your brand gets more of their attention and as the customers repeatedly utilize your promotional item, they become more and more associated to it.

Nowadays, brochures offering discounts are unattractive to consumers and that is the reason they end up on the rubbish. Brochures only give your brand a few minutes of exposure which is not long enough to remain in the consumers’ minds and is unlikely to change them into loyal customers. However, when you give the customers something to use, they retain the item and use them repeatedly. Good promotional items to give away are stress balls for customers to play with, pens for customers to jot notes, comfortable t-Shirt to wears and other form of practical items.

Other than that, promotional products are used as a pull factor to coax passerbys to enter your shop or stall. Promotional products can also be used to generate short term sales. Even nonprofit organizations leverage on promotional products to raise funds for good causes.
